Ms. Ann Jones
My name is Ann Jones. I am the Preschool Teacher here at Immaculate Conception School. This is my third year here at ICS, but I have been teaching in early childhood for 30 years. What I like most about preschoolers is their curiosity about the world around them, their honesty, and their love of exploration and creativity.

Ms. Destiney McIntosh
Destiney McIntosh is a Dayton native. She graduated in May with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She is currently studying her Master's at the University of Dayton through the Lalanne Program. In her free time, Destiney loves to write. She is currently the author of a blog website called wheninbetween. She also does litrugical dance ministry at her church. She is the oldest of four children.

Mrs. Elizabeth Schweitzer
My name is Elizabeth Schweitzer. I started at ICS in 2013. Back then, I was the preschool teacher as we began building the preschool program. After a year of teaching preschool, I moved to teaching Kindergarten and have been loving teaching Kindergarten ever since. My favorite subjects to teach are science and math, probably because those were my favorite in school to learn. In my spare time, I enjoy playing the cello and making dinner for my family.

Ms. Madison Wells
Madison Wells is currently in her second year of teaching. She received her Bachelor's degree from Ohio Dominican University in 2018. Currently, she is earning her Master's degree through the Lalanne program at the University of Dayton.
Ms. Wells is truly blessed to be at ICS! After being received into the Catholic Church in college, Ms. Wells found her vocation in Catholic education. She is so excited to share her faith with students, as she is growing with them! Every day is a new day, and she is grateful to be in a school that thinks the same way.

Mrs. Ann Sacksteder
Hello, My name is Ann Sacksteder. I am native to Dayton, having grown up in the Five Oaks neighborhood, and attended Corpus Christ and CJ. After College I took a couple years to travel and teach. My teaching experience includes time spent in Ghana, Kenya, The Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, Inner City San Antonio, Cincinnati, and Dayton. Three years ago, God blessed me with the opportunity here at Immaculate Conception where I have found a diverse and welcoming home. This is a unique school, and I am happy to be here.

Ms. Cassie Phillips
This year is Cassie Phillips’ first year at Immaculate Conception School and first year of teaching. In May of 2019, she received her bachelor’s degree from The University of Dayton in Early Childhood Education and Early Intervention. She has been a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Parish with her family for the past eight years.
Miss Phillips is a Dayton native, having attended Queen of Martyrs, St. Helen’s, Our Lady of the Rosary and Chaminade Julienne Catholic Schools. She is very excited to be part of the Falcon Community at ICS and start her teaching career with IC’s community of disciples!

Mrs. Sarah Shivadecker
Sarah Shivadecker has been an educator for 13 years. In 2006, she received her bachelor’s degree from Wright State University in Early Childhood Education. Before teaching at Immaculate Conception, she was called to serve her community as a family advocate, infant/preschool teacher and home visitor with EvenStart through Kettering Schools Grant Programs. Through this experience, she worked with refugees from many places, including Iraq, Syria, Mexico, Turkey and Sudan, helping the families to become assimilated to the US, working with adults as an advocate and teaching English to family members in their homes. She also worked with local families to empower adults to receive their GED, give research based parenting tips, and to keep the young children on track for school with after school tutoring. Some of the families she worked with during this time she has reunited with as students at ICS!
Mrs. Shivadecker has been a 3rd grade teacher at ICS for 8 years now. She is very grateful to be able to teach in Catholic schools after having received an education in Catholic schools at St. Anthony and CJ. She is also very humbled by the ability to serve her community, having been raised and still residing in East Dayton. Immaculate Conception is a special place for her, as her parents and all of their siblings attended ICS and her children Gabrielle (14) and Owen (11) have also attended ICS. She is very passionate about teaching and truly considers it a blessing to live out what she considers her calling.

Ms. Alexandra Bartley
Alexandra Bartley grew up in Oak Park, IL, graduating from Oak Park River Forest High School in 1992. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Civilization and Archaeology at the University of Cincinnati in 1996. After college, she worked as an archaeologist, excavating ancient Native American cultures at Fort Ancient and the Grand Canyon. She completed a Master of Arts in Language Arts and Literature at Eastern Michigan University in 2001, where she also taught writing and literature courses.
Since then, Ms. Bartley has taught a variety of age groups, from infants to college-age. She has also worked as a writer and content editor in academic publishing, creating textbook materials and standardized tests for clients, including Pearson, Time-Life Books, and GED Testing Services. More recently, she taught middle school language arts and science at the STEAM Academy of Dayton. Last year, she joined the Immaculate Conception family, teaching third grade. She loves working with students, expanding their minds and watching them grow, and she looks forward to working with the fourth grade this year. When she is not in the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, Katherine, who attends Immaculate Conception. She also loves reading, writing, hiking, and spending time out on the lake.

Ms. Caitlin Kern
Ms. Kern is in her first year of teaching at Immaculate Conception School. In 2017, she received her Bachelor’s degree from Wright State University. She then continued to sub in various districts such as Huber Heights, Mad River, St. Peter Catholic School, and Bethel Locals Schools. She then went on to receive her Master’s degree in May of 2019 in Middle Childhood Education from Wright State University. This year she will be teaching 4th grade in Math, Science, and Religion. Ms. Kern has grown up in the Dayton area, attending Huber Heights City School for her education and St. Peter Catholic School for her Catholic Education. She is very excited for this opportunity to teach at Immaculate Conception School.

Ms. Peggy Powers
Mrs. Powers teaches 5th grade Language Arts and Social Studies. Over the past 17 years she has dedicated her career to our Catholic Schools in the Dayton Area. She is a Daytonian and her parents were both born and raised here.She has six siblings which includes her twin sister, who is also an educator. She is an aunt to twenty-three nieces and nephews who she adores. She looks forward to working with you and your child this year!

Mrs. Mollie Specht
Mrs. Specht is originally from Toledo, Ohio, but moved down to Dayton to attend UD. Having grown up in Catholic schools as a student, she feels incredibly blessed to be able to continue in Catholic education as a teacher, especially at a school as Christ-centered as Immaculate Conception. She has been teaching math and science (and some years religion) in Grades 4 and 5 at Immaculate Conception since 2004, though each year feels fresh and exciting with different groups of students to work with, new teaching strategies to try, and changes that just naturally come along! Outside of teaching, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, learning new things, doing outdoor activities, and reading.

Mrs. Stephanie Snurr
Junior High Teacher & Sixth grade Homeroom
Mrs. Snurr has been a Catholic school teacher for eighteen years. When she is not teaching, she enjoys reading and has been an avid runner for years. Her own children at home also keep her busy. Cameron is a baseball and football player, and Callie is a soccer player. They are not only great athletes but exceptional students, also. Her supportive husband, Darren, is an insurance agent. She feels blessed everyday to be here at Immaculate Conception School and and thanks God everyday for this opportunity.

Mrs. Amanda Roddy
Junior High Teacher & Seventh grade homeroom
Mrs. Roddy has had the privilege of ministering in Catholic Schools for the past four years. Her first year was completed in 2014 at Trotwood at Preparatory and Fitness Academy. Now she is excited to start her sixth year of teaching at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception School as a Junior High Teacher.
It has always been her calling to serve in the classroom. She values each and every student as an individual and feels blessed to have such an amazing opportunity to experience the 2019-2020 school year here at ICS.
Mrs. Roddy received her Masters degree in Middle Childhood Education at Wright State University. She grew up in the suburbs of Dayton, attended St. Luke Parish where she received all her sacraments. Dayton has always been home to her and she never wanted to leave. She has been happily married for 9 years and has three children of her own. She loves to praise God with her voice, pray through her writing and explore the marvelous wonders of this world, given to us by God. She enjoys watching movies and listening to K-Love on the radio.

Mrs. Sandy Beall
Mrs. Beall was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and moved to Dayton with her parents when she was in the 8th grade. They joined Immaculate Conception parish within weeks of arriving in Belmont. She has been a parish member for over 45 years. She attended Carroll High School and received a BFA from the University of Dayton.
After graduating from college, she spent many years working in management and in retail sales for Elder Beerman Stores but her dream to teach elementary school Art never left her. While two of her children were still attending Immaculate Conception, she approached the principal and suggested that the school needed an Art Teacher. She was thrilled when she agreed and the next year, Mrs. Beall began teaching part-time Art. Throughout the more than 16 years that she has been at ICS, Mrs. Beall has taught Art along with Religion, Social Studies and Physical Education. As a teacher, Art has always been her favorite subject.
Mrs. Beall is married to a retired Dayton Police officer and has three grown children (all in the military) and two dear grandchildren. In her spare time she loves to walk, watch movies and spend time with her family.

Mrs. Christina Pultz-Miller
Mrs. Pultz-Miller has loved her experience teaching in Catholic Schools for the past three years! She grew up in Gahanna near Columbus, Ohio. Christina is a graduate of The Ohio State University were she earned her Bachelor's of Music Education in 2014. She began her teaching career at Blessed Sacrament School in Newark, Ohio and has also taught instrumental, voice, and piano lessons privately. In the summer of 2016, Christina moved to the Dayton area and was thrilled to begin her work at Immaculate Conception School. Here she has enjoyed teaching Music and Physical Education as well as coaching Girls on the Run and the Immaculate Conception School Choir.
She currently lives in Miamisburg with her husband, Will, and baby daughter, Donna. In her spare time, Christina loves camping, hiking, cooking, and spending time with her family rooting for the Buckeyes!

Mrs. Nikki Martin
Mrs. Martin has loved every minute of working at Immaculate Conception school for the past 6 years. She began volunteering in 2009 when her oldest daughter started kindergarten at Immaculate and eventually became the PTO President until she began working in the office. She will almost always give you a sticker if you ask and you can sometimes find her roaming the halls in a dino costume!
Mrs. Martin is an Immaculate Conception School alumni, all three of her children have also attended Immaculate and then went on to attend Chaminade Julienne High School. In her free time, she loves to craft, crochet, binge on Netflix and spend time with her family.
